Emptyinside, even though I have not been in your exact situation, I do understand. I thought to myself several years ago, I could never do this single, then I thought why do it married then. Out of all those "happy" people you see sitting at the assembly, many of them are totally miserable, not everything is as it seems. It is really tough being single in that organisation, especially for a woman. If you are thinking of making a change in your life (getting out) at least it's just you and you don't have the worry of a spouse, and does he feel the same way. For now, I agree with other posters that encouraged you to find fulfillment in other area of you life like your career, or try taking a class. Make sure you are not clinically depressed, go see your doctor for a physical. Tell him about what your lifestyle is like, I was so surprised at how understanding when I told my physician what was going on. I really hope you stay on this site so that you gain some perspective, it was here that I realised I wasn't crazy and came to grips with the decision to leave. I hope you find peace. Welcome. NMKA

Have you ever heard of a situation where a speaker had to leave the platform/stage?
by StoneWall inand if so how was it handled?.
was it because of illness?.
or extreme case of nature calling?

Yes, a brother collapsed because his defibrillator went off. Another case I remember was a little boy who started to cry and had to get down every-time he got up to do a bible reading. This went on for about a year, parents really wanted him to give that talk so the school servant tried him every month or so. Turns out he finally told a school counselor ( because he was having other problems like bed wetting) that he was being raped by a man in the congregation. Now shake it off and get up and give that talk son.

The Value of JWN (and more importantly) YOU.
by AllTimeJeff ini find it interesting how some jw's, (in disobedience to the gb) come here, and either try to present former jw's as "bitter", etc.. or sometimes, they try to pass off the bullsh*t of the gb as chocolate pudding, and say that jw's can indeed question, go on the internet, question even the gb, and sometimes, you can actually disagree and still be a jw!.
wow... thats a new one.
i really hope any lurkers here will take up the apologists on their offers.

We quit about two months before I discovered this site. I can honestly say it was not the Internet that started my journey, but it was years of sitting at meeting thinking "huh"? "What?, really?, did they just say that"? All the while sitting there with a bunch of people nodding along like drones. Until I confided in my husband, I thought I was the only one. Then I found this site and it was like I found dozens of friends that thought just as I did. First, I was fascinated with the doctrinal contradictions. Then social and family situations. Wow, all these different people from all over the world experiencing the same and willing to speak of it. Without JWN, I don't know what would have happened to me. I am afraid we would have went back and have to forever wear the scarlet letter or stayed out but been miserable. This site for me has been like therapy that really worked, my favorite entertainment and freedom all wrapped up in one. NMKA.

I just went to a dream interpretation web sit. I searched turkey. There were explanations for seeing a turkey, hunting a turkey and eating a turkey. But no one speaks about "being" a turkey (especially in an amorous way). You probably need help. Maybe from a team of doctors. Try a large teaching facility, but do seek help immediately.

Confused over JW friend's behavior: (I'm not a JW)
by whyizit ini invited a jw friend of mine to a christian retreat, and she did go.
it was a small group.
she seemed to enjoy herself.

I don't think this girl, although baptised, is "in" hook line and sinker. First of all she is newly baptised ,no one else in her family is in the cult and she was so unaware of the rules that she went on this retreat with you, all good signs. She is probably just searching for big answers in life and thought she found it. She is someone that will be easier to convince to leave because she doesn't have huge ties of time and family. If she wants to study with "you" it will probably be a great chance for you to actually educate her, for every topic that comes up you can do your own research and refute, in a gentle way, what she is saying. Good for you for showing your concern for her. NMKA

Snakes just terrify me. Even when people say "that kind won't hurt you" or "they kill mice". It's totally irrational, I'd rather have the mice!

I started letting the kids go to birthday parties and school functions. My older one has a girlfriend and a little job( there was no time before). It's more important for me that the kids have some kind of normal life, not much has changed for us except for a few simple things like voting, a cool beard (on my husband), birthdays, father/mother day. Just can't get into Christmas yet. It's so wonderful to just do the simple things like read the paper on Sunday morning or hit the gym on a Thursday evening.
